Computer Architecture

Prerequisite: (Digital Logic & Design)
Computer organization: Control unit design, instruction execution
and sequencing of control signals. Hardwired and micro programmed
control. Input-output-programmed, interrupt driven and DMA I/O and
interface design. Arithmetic logic unit implementation, addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division operations for integer and
floating point numbers. memory organization, memory hierarchy, cache
memories -mapping functions and page replacement policies, memory
management requirements and virtual memory hardware support.
Fundamentals of computer communications and error control.
